Privacy

The data (personal information) collected about the registered and non-registered users of the Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy journals and serial publications are intended to ensure the standard functionality of peer-reviewed journals. The editor uses personal information to maintain communication during the editorial process, and inform readers about authors, the publisher, and the Editorial Board. Information about authors on the website of the Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy journals and serial publications will be used only for website tasks and for proper indexing of articles in databases of scientific publications according to the subject of the journal or serial publication. This information will not be shared.

Confidentiality

The editor will treat all manuscripts submitted to the Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy journals and serial publications as confidential. The confidentiality policy is aligned with the COPE Ethical guidelines for peer reviewers.

Reviewers must respect the confidentiality of the peer-review process.  No information about the manuscript or its review is disclosed during or after the peer-review, except for information published by journals and serial publications. If reviewers wish to involve a colleague in the review process, they must first obtain permission from the journal or serial publication. When a review is submitted, the editor should be informed of all individuals who have assisted in the review process.

The editor will not hand over manuscripts to third parties outside of the Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy journals and serial publications except in cases where inappropriate behavior is suspected. Manuscripts can be shared with editors of other Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy journals or serial publications unless the authors have indicated when submitting the manuscript, that they do not want their manuscript to be transferred to other publications.
